Objective: Apply for and use your My Number card without confusion.
Documents and essentials
- Notification Card or QR letter from City Hall
- Residence Card
- Passport
- One passport-style photo (or use online submission)
What actually happens
- 1Receive your My Number notification
A letter with your 12-digit number arrives at your registered address 2 to 3 weeks after you register at City Hall.
- 2Apply for the physical card
Apply online with the QR code on the letter, by post, or at a photo booth that supports My Number applications.
- 3Collect the card in person
Pick up the card at your ward office 4 to 6 weeks later — bring the pickup notice, your Residence Card and passport.
- 4Set your PINs carefully
You will set a 4-digit PIN plus a longer signing password. Write them down and store them safely.
Say these when it matters
The My Number Card doubles as your health insurance card and lets you log in to government services online.
Never share your My Number in email or over the phone with unsolicited callers — only official offices and your employer need it.
